Art Critique by Mr. Paolo Giordanella

Science of wonder and mystery, from the unknown through to the what could be, Farrugia’s work is a micro cosmos of alluring detail and illuminated colour. Matthew’s scientific approach to his art instils a sense of belief within the viewer whilst observing his futuristic yet sometimes radical works. His art pieces are packed with narrative, that being, one of a continuos and ongoing journey, a study into ever-evolving spectacle, a documentation of scientific experimentation presented in a palatable aesthetic format. Farrugia does not offer us any answers, let alone explanation as to the outcome of these studies yet we still come away invigorated with the possibilities of his fantastical projects and the unfolding journey of what the future may have in store for us and our planet. Matthew’s work is prepared to go where science will take him, always guided by his strong aesthetic sensibility he will undoubtedly create works that will intrigue and bewilder the viewer. His compelling art encapsulates the enigma of life.
